BURN IT BABY
Keep it safe when burning your candles;
Don't leave a burning candle home alone.
Keep your candles away from little fingers and fury paws.
Don't move a burning candle, it will be hot.
Your candle is finished when 1cm of wax is left in the jar, discontinue use.
MAKE IT LAST
Look after your candle, show it some love;
Always burn your candle long enough for the wax pool to reach the side of the jar. This will usually take 1-2 hours but if you don't let the wax pool melt all the way to the side of the jar it may create tunnelling of your candle.
Don't burn your candle for more than 4 hours at a time. If you burn your candle all day it will get very hot, may damage your wick and may reduce the scent throw in the future. For tin candle don't burn them for more than 2 hours, if the candles is burnt for many house the wick may release from its holder.
Candles don't like sunlight, keep me in the dark.
COMMON CANDLE QUESTIONS
WHY IS THERE BLACK RESIDUE ON THE INSIDE OF MY CANDLE JAR?
If your cotton wick is not trimmed black residue may appear when burning the candle. To avoid this always make sure to keep the cotton wick trimmed to about 7mm from the wax before use and each time you re-light your candle. You can easily remove the black residue with a cloth or paper towel.
MY CANDLE IS CRACKED AROUND THE WICK CAN I STILL USE IT?
Yes cracking around the wooden wick is very common and a sure sign that it is made with pure soy wax! Soy wax is a natural product, it contracts in cold weather and expands in hotter weather, some cracking may occur around the wick. Any cracking will disappear when burnt. Make sure you always burn your candle long enough to create a full burn pool.
MY WOODEN WICK CANDLE WONT STAY ALIGHT, WHAT DO I DO?
Sometime your new wooden wick candle may need some encouragement to stay alight, especially in winter, no one likes the cold! Show it some extra love and keep relighting it until you get enough heat into the wick.
MY CANDLE IS TUNNELED CAN I FIX IT?
If you do not allow the wax to melt to the edge of the jar the candle will remember and won’t melt to the outer edge in the future, this can cause the candle to tunnel. Soy wax is soft and the surface can easily be fixed, when you candle is cool and set scoop out wax on the side of the jar and make the surface as smooth as possible, you can even use your fingers! You can also use your hairdryer to heat the top of the candle and pour out the excess, this will make the top of the candle smooth again.
I HAVE FINISHED MY CANDLE, HOW DO I CLEAN THE JAR?
When you have finished your jar candle simply wash in warm soapy water. You can now enjoy and repurpose your jar.
