What kind of wicks do you use?
We use natural lead-free 100% cotton wicks and wooden wicks made of wood from sustainable sources.
What kind of wax are used in Noosa Handmade candles?
We use pure Soy wax in all our candles - we do not blend our waxes with cheaper products. All of our candles are free from paraffin wax.
Why is there black residue on the inside of my candle jar?
If your cotton wick is not trimmed black resudue may appear when burning the candle. To avoid this always make sure to keep the cotton wick trimmed to about 7mm from the wax before use and each time you re-light your candle. You can easily remove the black residue with a cloth or paper towel.
My candle is cracked around the wick - can I still use it?
Yes cracking around the wooden wick is very common and a sure sign that it is made with pure soy wax! Soy wax is a natural product, it contracts in cold weather and expands in hotter weather, some cracking may occur around the wick. Any cracking will disappear when burnt. Make sure you always burn your candle long enough to create a full burn pool.
I have finished my candle, how do I clean the Jar?
When you have finished your jar candle simply wash in warm soapy water. You can now enjoy and repurpose your jar.
How do I open my Reed Diffuser?
It is very easy to open the diffusers – simply unscrew the wooden cap and remove the plastic stopper from the bottle. Replace the wooden cap and place the reeds into the bottle. Reed diffuser oil may damage some surfaces if spilt, we suggest you use a coaster, or pretty ceramic plate under your reed diffuser to protect your surfaces.
Why may the fragrance in my diffuser discolour?
A discolouration of the diffuser fragrance oil may appear after it has been opened as the perfume interacts with oxygen. This does not mean your product is faulty, it is simply due to the compositon of the fragrance. Make sure to store your diffuser away from direct sunlight as it may contribute to discolouration.
Are refills availble for the diffusers or the candle containers?
Unfortunately we do not offer refills.
